Steady rest (linet) allow the long and thin workpieces turning. The design with 2 cutters allow the more cutting capacity. This machine equipt with hydraulic cylinder for more powerfull putting the workpiece between the centers. Vertical and horizontal milling cutters can make longitudional and twist grooves on the turned surfaces.
